Tips on avoiding common errors
| Assembling your Envirowood Adirondack
|
 Before you begin . . .
Unpack and sort all parts from shipping box (hardware is taped to inside of box) | Preparation Notes: 1. Choose your assembly area, and allow for room to turn chair on its side during stages of assembly. 2. Keep hardware in a shallow container for easy access, and to avoid accidentally knocking hardware out of reach or out of sight. 3. Nut and washers are attached in the order shown below-right image.

VERY IMPORTANT
1. Do not tighten hardware until all chair parts have been attached
2. Do not OVER tighten hardware (last step of assembly).
|
Step One: Attach back to seat using the four 1.75" Philips Head screws provided in hardware bag. DO NOT USE A HIGH SPEED DRILL
Place back on seat as shown above.
Hold back down against seat while using a Philips head screw driver to attach back to seat, and slightly drive each of four 1.75" screws into back of seat--this method allows for adjusting back in the event of minor slipping that may occur. A pair of helping hands for this step makes the job much easier.
NOTE: Only the base of the back has pre-drilled holes. The area of the seat, where the back will be attach, does not--thus, allowing for a strong attachment.
Carefully finish driving all four screws into back seat, continually alternating from left to right side.
Screws may be countersunk by a modest 1/16", but do not over drive screws into seat.
| Step Two: Attach a leg to side front of seat
Set attached back/seat on its side.

Using three 3.5" connector bolts, attach front leg to seat (leg and seat have three pre-drilled holes). TIP: Allow a gap (as shown above) so that you will more easily drive bolts through corresponding holes of leg/seat.
Gently tap bolts down with a hammer or mallet if necessary.
Once all three bolts are in, secure each bolt with a flat washer, a lock washer and a nut. Slightly tighten all with 4MM Allen Wrench (included) and a 7/16 Wrench (not included).
Do not fully tighten bolts: You will need wiggle room to attach all parts of your Adirondack.
|
Step Three: Attach second leg
Repeat step two to attach second leg to chair.
The chair may be set upright, or set on its side to attach the second leg.
| Step Four: Attach arms

| Set Adirondack upright.
Attach each arm to chair with connector bolts (pre-drilled holes in back yoke, arms and legs dictate where the arms will be attached). IMPORTANT The 2.75" connector bolts are used at the back/arm assembly.
The 3.5" connector bolts are used at the arm/leg assembly. Reminder: bolt head on the inside, nut/washers on the outside.
As with the leg assembly in step two, mount a washer, lock washer and nut to each bolt and slightly tighten all.
|
|
Step Five: Tighten all bolts
|
Tighten all bolts with 4MM Allen Wrench (included) and a 7/16 Wrench (not included)
TIP: For quicker work use a ratchet with 7/16 fitting.
Do not over tighten.
|
| Step Six:
Sit back, relax, and enjoy!
