Teak Care To keep the appearance of new teak... Rockwood recommends that you seal your furniture with a teak protector. We prefer the low-maintenance look of weathered wood! We do not recommend using any form of teak oil as this product is usually used for indoor teak and it can promote mold and mildew. We are happy to discuss the various options in teak care.
Weathered look... Outdoor teak will turn silver-gray over time. Checking is a natural process that occurs when teak develops small cracks in the end grain of the furniture as the wood ages. Checking does not affect the integrity of RockWood furniture and will virtually disappear over time. Bring back silver teak to the original color of new teak... You may restore your weathered furniture back to the golden color of new teak by applying a teak cleaner and then apply a teak protector. Ordinary cleaning... Use a mild detergent and water and gently scrub with a soft brush, then rinse with clean water.
